Summary:
This paper explores the gamification of cyber threat intelligence (CTI) to enhance engagement in cybersecurity, particularly for space system resilience. It emphasises the narrative as a game mechanic, proposing a structured process with three phases: cybersecurity storyline development, CTI integration, and gamification rules development. Developed through a human-centered design approach involving domain experts and end-users, this process uses a narrative interweaving technique, combining cyber supply chain and space system attack scenarios. These scenarios are mapped to CTI using open-source frameworks like MITRE ATT&CK and DEF3ND and structured into a decision tree for user interaction. The paper contributes to the growing area of gamification in cybersecurity, beyond education and awareness training, and proposes an approach for narrative development for CTI-based gamification.Author(s):
